The Beit Shulamit Cancer Research Center Sponsorship of Research Oncology Laboratories at the Emek Medical Center
The Beit Shulamit Cancer Research Center: Where Discovery Meets Care
The Beit Shulamit Cancer Research Center is designed as a hub for pioneering basic, translational, and clinical cancer research, fostering close collaboration between scientists, physicians, and industry partners.
Unlike traditional research environments, the center is physically and conceptually integrated into the clinical ecosystem. The center is therefore strategically positioned to bridge the gap between fundamental laboratory research and patient care by housing patients, research laboratories, and medical experts under one roof. This “bench-to-bedside” approach will ensure that scientific findings can be directly applied to develop novel treatments. At the same time, clinical challenges encountered in patient care can be thoroughly investigated and addressed through fundamental basic research.
Ultimately, this integration of research and clinical practice will accelerate the advancement of innovative cancer therapies, improve patient outcomes for patients in northeastern Israel, promote multidisciplinary research initiatives, attract outstanding physician – scientists and young investigators and position the Beit Shulamit Research Center as a leading force in the fight against cancer.
The research center includes:
• five research laboratories that will be equipped with both basic and advanced laboratory equipment and tools
• shared core facilities that include a tissue cultures room, an analytical equipment room, deep freezers and liquid nitrogen room, a dark room with advanced microscopy and a service room for sterilization and water distillation – designed to support cutting-edge oncology research for years to come.
Each laboratory is conceived as a focused engine of discovery, led by a research team working on innovative questions in oncology.
Supporting research laboratories means enabling the launch of high-impact research programs, the recruitment and empowerment of talented researchers and the advancement of discoveries with direct relevance to patient care.
The amount of the start-up budget per research laboratory is $191,780.
At a first stage, three research laboratories will operate. The total amount to sponsor the first three laboratories is $575,340.
Your generous support will play a pivotal role in strengthening the Beit Shulamit Cancer Research Center and advancing its mission to transform cancer care through research.
In recognition of your generosity, we would be honored to acknowledge your contribution by installing a recognition plaque near/within the supported laboratory(ies).
Cancer research is not a distant endeavor. It is a daily, urgent pursuit driven by the needs of patients sitting just steps away from the laboratory bench.
By supporting the research laboratory/ies at the Beit Shulamit Cancer Research Center, you help ensure that scientific excellence and excellence of care continue to move forward together—close to home, and close to those who need it most.
