Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Kaplan Medical Center provides extensive and essential services in the evaluation of neck masses, including cases in which malignancy is suspected. Ultrasound examination is a cornerstone diagnostic tool in this field. It enables precise imaging of neck structures, accurate characterization of suspicious findings, and—most importantly—real-time guidance for fine needle aspiration biopsies. The ability to guide the needle with high precision significantly improves diagnostic accuracy, shortens the diagnostic process, and reduces the need for unnecessary procedures.
A state-of-the-art, next-generation ultrasound system with superior imaging quality will allow earlier and more accurate diagnosis. Early detection of malignant tumors can be lifesaving and enables timely initiation of treatment at stages when outcomes are significantly better. At the same time, when a neck mass proves to be benign, we can provide reassurance and prevent patients from undergoing unnecessary surgery and its associated risks.
Our medical center serves a population of approximately one million people. The new equipment will directly enhance the quality, accessibility, and timeliness of care provided to this large community.
